The New Netflix Movie 'How It Ends' Features Societal Collapse By Geological Apocalypse
The new Netflix action thriller film How it Ends (spoilers ahead) imagines how a sudden collapse could occur in the modern U.S. Successful young lawyer Will (played by British actor Theo James) and his estranged father-in-law Tom (played by American actor, producer, and director Forest Steven Whitaker), an ex-marine turn technical consultant, flee from Chicago after precursor geological activity is noted. Tremors are followed by power failures in all of larger cities of the west coast. All communication breaks down as electronic devices stop working.
Authorities are unwilling or unable to explain what is happening and panic spreads quickly. Strange storms in the Pacific force a general air traffic shutdown and traffic jams in the streets make it almost impossible to leave the city. Trying to find Will's pregnant girlfriend Samantha (played by Swiss-born American actress, model, singer and dancer Kat Graham), traveling across a chaotic and fractured country to Seattle, the two men survive more unexplained natural disasters.
